24 year-old American Greg Long wrote his name into surfing history on Tuesday when he won the eighth edition of ‘The Eddie’, a big-wave competition off the Hawaiian island of Oahu which only takes place when wave heights average over 20 feet. (Dec. 9)

Looking for a decently-priced surf camp in Hawaii (any island) to learn to surf for about a week with good instructors.
I’d be going during the winter months so it would have to be something on the north shores of the islands where the waves are biggest.
