I’m 27 and ever since I was 12, music has been my purpose in life. It’s always been so easy to write music and I’ve always loved everything I wrote. Now I just pick up my guitar, pluck out a few ineffectual notes and get depressed about not even caring enough. I’ve really let my skills slip. I’m in my studio right now staring at my keyboard, guitars, amps, audio equipment and stuff and I just don’t care. I mean, I DO care, but not enough to even try. I keep reaching to my right and hitting a few keys and then I go back to surfing the net as the depression begins to well up.
What do you do when you no longer care to even write?

im looking to get a new laptop and here are my two options.
1. Dell XPS Studio 13
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo P8700 (3MB cache/2.53GHz/1066Mhz FSB)
Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition SP1, 64-bit
Edge-to-Edge 13.3″ HD WXGA LCD with 2.0 Megapixel Camera
Slot Load DVD+/-RW (DVD/CD read/write)
4GB1 Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1067MHz (2 Dimms)
320GB2 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive
NVIDIA® GeForce® 9500M – 256MB
High Definition Audio 2.0
Dell Wireless 1515 802.11n Half Mini-Card
-my question is; are these specs enough to run vista smoothly? im using a computer at work with vista and i really dont like how choppy it runs. i mean, the specs on these are not close to those specs up there, but still….
option #2
Apple Macbook 2.0ghz
# Intel Core 2 Duo
# 2GB DDR3 Memory
# 160GB hard drive1
# NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
-this is my second option simply because of the Operating System. I love the apple osx. and ive used my friend’s macbook pro and its so easy to use.
—-the price between the two are pretty much the same…
–i wont be doing TOO much with my laptop. i usually surf the web and write. im constantly listening to music, and occasionally watch movies. i like to stream TV shows (i want to be able to watch them in HD quality). i dont do TOO much gaming, i occasionally log onto steam to play a few rounds of counter-strike.
what do u think is the best option for me?
Thanks in advance!

I am planning on buying a Dell desktop soon. The computer I want is the Dell Dimension C521. The following are the stats:
AMD Sempron Processor 3400
512 MB DDR2 (memory)
80GB (hard drive)
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Graphics GPU
Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio (sound card)
The #1 reason for the computer will be to type Word documents (I’m a writer) and Internet surfing (no porn!). But I was also considering playing DVDs on it. (I have no desire to burn CDs/DVDs or do stuff with photos or music. What I just mentioned is absolutely it: Word, Internet, and possibly DVD playing. Nothing more.)
What I want to know: is this enough power to play a DVD on? Will the picture be good? The computer can play DVDs, but I don’t know how good the quality will be. I have my own real DVD player, but I thought, maybe I should use the computer to play DVDs just in case my housemates are hogging the tv–that way I can watch a movie on my computer in my room. Please help.
