Learning to scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia, back in the year 2000. We had a 1 week training course including 9 dives on a liveaboard which moved between different reefs. Video includes parts of the PADI open water certification including navigation, removing mask. Lots of fish, turtles, corals and other amazing underwater life. Fran is wearing pink fins, and Neil has odd blue and green fins. The last two minutes show some library footage from Cairns Dive Centre.
Have heard that it is raining in Cairns at this time of the year. Won’t our experience of Great barrier reef for Snorkling, Scuba Diving etc et spoiled at this time since it will be raining.
I am reaching cairns for Great barrier reef experience in March and will be in cairns for just a day and I want to experience great barrier reef. I am skeptical that I may not be able to owing to ba d weather.
Is there someone who can provide us with real picture of weather in Cairns and GBR
I enjoy scuba diving and am going to be going to the Great Barrier Reef.
Although I love diving I am concerned about sharks, I’ve heard some bad stories! I’d be going with an experienced local divemaster, not friends or on my own.
It’s something I am really worried about. Please share any thoughts, experiences or advice. Thanks!
I will be traveling with my husband to Brisbane Australia, I will not have access to an automobile. I would like to see the Great Barrier Reef (no scuba diving) but I cannot find a tour that leaves from Brisbane. Can anyone help? Thanks!
