Which Tour Company Should I Use For A Simi-submersible Reef Tour In Cairns, Australia?

We will be visiting Cairns, Australia for a day and want to do a simi-submersible tour of the Great Barrier Reef. I have identified several tour companies that will leave from the Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns. The companies that I have found are:
— Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruises
— Reef Magic Cruises
— Sunlover Reef Cruises
— Great Adventures Outer Reef & Island Cruises
— Quicksilver Cruises
I would like a tour leaving from the Reef Fleet Terminal as it will be walking distance from our hotel. Also, are tours going to Green Island the same as or as good as those going to other places like Agincourt Reef??
We are not interested in scuba or snorkel, just seeing the reef and maybe some beach time if the weather is nice (1/30/2009). Advice??

If you are not really interested in snorkeling which is what actually happens on most of the reef tours than I would recommend the Green Island tour Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruises. The outer reef cruises are mainly for people who want to do snorkel ling or diving. My opinion is that the outer reef is usually nicer than the island reef. But if you do not want to snorkel and you want the beach do one of the Island cruises.

TINKERTOY, oceangir is 100% correct, hell, we almost made the same mistake and would have regretted not doing the outer reef. We were talking to some other Canadians who where sitting at the same bar, and they told us about it, so we talk up their suggestion and did some snorkeling. It was the experience of a lifetime.
