My Man Is Starting Learning To Surf, What Would Be The Best Board To Begin With. He Is 6ft Tall.?

Biggest question is how much does he weigh? It is all about the buoyancy. I am 6′1” and weigh 230. i ride a 6′8” quiet flight. It is a little bit wider most boards so I can ride a shorter board. It also depends on the wave height. All a round go with a 6′7 to 7′2” board which can handle any kind of surf from 2 ft to double overhead high.
If he is not athletic go with a longboard 8ft plus. You can pick up a used surfboard to see if it is the sport for him.

It really depends on what he likes. Im 5′2 110 pounds and I ride a 9 ft’r. Just get practice on different sizes and choose the one that feels the best.

Start with at LEAST and 8′6″. And stay away from waves over 5 feet. You want him to learn, not drink the ocean and get stitches.

The best brand for you would probably be surftech. Its a new invention for beginners and since he is 6foot tall, he will need a longboard about 6′7 or 7 foot long board. also buy sex wax, its the best wax for your board.
