The Gold Coast

Oh well Australia is full of beautiful beaches. Make sure you go to beaches that are manned with life guards because in summer the deadly box jellyfish come out in the warmer climates, like Queensland. Going to spots where life guards are generally means more safety and watch.
As the others have said, go to The Gold Coast in Queensland. It’s the surf/beach capital of Australia.
Other famous beaches which are also great are:
Sydney – Bondi Beach
Melbourne – St Kilda Beach
Places like queensland also have some great night markets to go to, and the nights are always really warm so don’t worry about rugging up!
Australia has heaps of immigrants, so be prepared to experience just about every culture you’ve ever dreamed of.
With living cheap, there are plenty of restuarants downtown which are tasty and cheap and heaps of hotel places to stay in, as it is a very touristy spot.
I can recommend going to Cairns. Great place, very relaxed and friendly.
Hope you have a great time where ever you choose to go.
