Best Place To Learn To Surf In Europe?

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010 at 10:50 am

Hi there..:)
me and my bf want to go abroad (we live in the UK) to learn to surf.. money is an issue so nowhere too expensive …
mainly we want somewhere with quite big waves that wont let us down when we get there since we are taking a week’s holiday and paying to go there :)
we were thinking lanzarote, fuerteventura, portugal or bilbao…
what do you think :)
also, do you know any surf schools??
many thanks x

I learned to surf in the south of France, stayed on a campsite which is relatively cheap and the surf lessons are cheap. I went to Gascony Area, Labenne Ocean. Go to the Eurocamp/Keycamp website ’cause you get good deals online.
Cornwall would be good as well, although you couldn’t really count on the weather. Also…it’s not abroad, but it’d be a cheapish holiday.

    Portugal for sure! ;)
The best beaches for surf. Try “Guincho”, “Ericeira” just to name a couple. Check on the web. You wont regret.

If you’re in south France then your best bet would be Biarritz, France.
