Two huge waves swept away spectators watching a Northern California surfing contest Saturday morning, causing broken bones and other injuries to more than a dozen people standing on a seawall. (Feb. 13)
The Red Bull surf team's first aerial training session on the newly built skateboard bowl. Jordy Smith, Michel Bourez, Mick Fanning and Sally Fitzgibbons all tried adapting to the new board and skate deck – much different from a surf board and wave – and after a while it proved as a perfect training ground for aerials in the water. Borrowing training concepts first proto-typed by snowboarder Shaun White during "Project X", the best of the best, including two-time and reigning Men's World Champion Mick Fanning, Women's World Champion Sofia Mulanovich, Junior World Champions Julian Wilson and Sally Fitzgibbons, along with international stars Jordy Smith and Michel Bourez will be expanding, honing and refining their aerial repertoires with the assistance of professional coaches, pro skateboarders and the use of gymnastic facilities. The star of the show is not any one of the surfers, but a custom-built skateboard bowl tailored specifically to surf style moves with right and left "breaking" ramps that are exposed to a large foam-pit. redbullsurfing.com
I’m 6′4, 210lbs, size 13 feet. I’m looking for a playboat for park and play. Waves and holes. Looking for something with alot of pop, and a good edge for surfing. I’d also like something with half decent flatwater play. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
Were taking a trip to the grand canyon next week, and we need some ideas of what to do on a tight budget. We will be staying in Flagstaff for most of the week traveling to the canyon for hikes and going down to Tempe to the Big Surf water park.
What other things can we venture into? We dont mind hiking, though my dad has a bad back, and were pretty much up for anything that dosnt cost too much.
My younger brother is 13, im 19 and my parents… well no ages needed :] Thanks for the help!
we live in Oregon if you guys need any ideas of what to do here!
My fiancee works with helicopters for many years now, and is very experienced. I want to open a flight touring business, of the grand caynon, yosemite, or something along those lines. I know there are alot of laws and regulations that go with flying in parks and some dont allow it. But basically a touring business where people can go up and see the sites, like the many businesses do in alaska for example. also, i was thinking about taking arial photos for real estate magazines, ect. or taking video footage for surf videos, ect. I know that it is expensive to own a bird and dont know how to go about it. There is lots of questions and research I need to do and find out. If you have any knowledge of such a business from personal experience or a friends personal experience that would help alot.
