i really need to know how good this computer is i will really only use it for basic stuff like surfing the web emails and hd video quality and maybe some casual gaming like css or cod4 on low settings

Its obvious a lot of people on here have no or little experience with Vista, especially in the case you have. Vista is the Only OS I would recommend for you, because it is so well organized and indexed. Only thing I would recommend upgrading is the Vista OS to Ultimate, and also for CS:S and COD4, that integrated sound won’t work, even on low. Everything else is nice.

Well, good and bad parts.
Good:
Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.8 GHz, big L2 cache, fast front side bus.
Memory of 4 Gb, DDR2 at 800 MHz
Flatpanel monitor 19 inch.
SATA Hard drive, relatively big, 7200 RPM.
Not as good:
Integrated video; integrated audio.
VISTA
I sincerely hope you can even get your games to startup on that box because VISTA is awfully picky. That exact same box with WinXP and any kind of non-integrated graphics and audio would be seriously hot.

otherwise browsing the web could be somewhat difficult. other than that i would say it’s just fine

Fine, except you need a video card. The modem doesn’t matter unless you fax or use dial-up. I am sure you have ethernet. HD and RAM are fine, as is the processor. I would want another drive for copying from disk to disk. Don’t know the price, so if you like it, go for it.

A Very Good PC except for Vista .. you can Consider XP or Ubuntu ..
