I Got Infected With Some Kind Of Porn On Myspace That Froze My Computer. Now I Keep Getting Pop-ups Every

time that I visit a site. I have done a complete scan with Avira antivirus and Spybot search & destroy and removed all malware. As soon as I completed these scans and went back to web surfing the pop-ups started again. Yes I DO use Firefox. It has nothing to do with this. It has everything to do with the day I caught something on MySpace. This problem seems very stubborn and incurable.I checked to see if my pop-up blocker had been turned off in Firefox, but it hadn’t (are there other pop-up blockers running on my computer?) I searched through all my programs but I can’t tell which programs are legit and which are not. I even used “system restore”, but the same problem persists. Is my computer permanently damaged? I just want to go on the internet in peace without having to click off pop-ups! Note: the pop-ups flash on the screen for a half second and then go down to my toolbar at the bottom of the screen. If there is audio in the pop-up it comes on and annoys the crap out of me.

I would suggest that you get Avast. It is free for personal use.
Yesterday, my free anti-virus caught a trojan virus.
To ensure that the virus caught is not a false positive, I upload it to virus total web site to check.http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/c3558…
To my surprise, all the big names in Anti-virus industry cannot detect the trojan. The one that detect the trojan are mainly the free version.
Avast boot scan in Windows safe mode is the most effective way to get rid of stubborn trojans and viruses that keep coming back to haunt you.
These trojan and viruses hide themselves in system restore folder and many anti-virus programs cannot get rid of them. So whenever, you restart your PC,
the viruses are restore back by WIndows.
Avast boot scan help to get rid of them in the system restore folders and ensure your system are clean.

Start computer and tap F 8, go into safe mode, run your anti virus a couple of times. Then reboot, if it still has a problem, reboot to safe mode, disable the system restore and run anti virus again, and enable system restore. If it still has the problem you may need an update to Avira or even a different anti virus program.

Try clearing all of your private data several times. That helps me when I get popups. Popups usually occur when you visit certain sites, so if you clear ALL of your private data at once, it most likely will remove the problem. Also try turning on firefox’s popup blocker. I have all of that.

I’ve been there before. I downloaded all kinds of anti-spyware (some free, some not) and the pop ups just kept on coming. Ultimately, I had to call in the professionals.
BTW, is the pop up IE Defender? Mine was and yes, it’s a stubborn bastard. Call in the pro’s asap.

switch your computer. did you use a website that you needed to use but it was a pop-up. If you said allow pop-ups from this site it is gonna be there forever. so it is best to just switch it.

You could try running other adware / spyware removal tools like AdAware.
Also try HiJackThis.
If those don’t work, I’d suggest you make a backup of your important data and reinstall the system.
